Board of Directors
The UNAVSA Board of Directors (BoD) is an advisory board that provides necessary direction, support, and resources for the UNAVSA Executive Board to ensure the organization’s success. We are currently looking for eligible candidates to serve on BoD. Please refer to UNAVSA’s constitution for the specific qualifications and responsibilities of BoD.

Dan Huynh

About
Dan Huynh is a Senior Product Manager at Deloitte Digital, a creative digital consultancy. Before Deloitte, he was a Senior Product Consultant for ThoughtWorks. Dan previously served as President of UNAVSA from 2010-2012. He has also held a number of leadership positions with UVSA-Midwest and the Vietnamese Student Associations of Minnesota (VSAM).
Dan, who grew up in St. Paul, MN, holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of St. Thomas and an MBA from the University of Illinois. He met his wife, An, at UVSA (SoCal) Camp. They have a son, Evan. Dan has a deep passion for the Vietnamese community and looks forward to continuing to serve with UNAVSA.

Huy Tran

About
Huy Tran served as the first representative for Northern California when UNAVSA (then called NAVSA) was formed in 2006, and attended the first 6 UNAVSA conferences. In that time, he took on numerous roles, including serving as Executive Director for the 2006 Conference in San Jose, California, Internal Vice-President from 2006 to 2008, and CPP Co-Director in 2009. Huy stepped back from UNAVSA in 2009 when he was accepted in Santa Clara University School of Law, where he specialized in social justice and worker’s rights. After law school, Huy co-founded Justice at Work Law Group to continue his work in social justice and worker’s rights. Building up his firm over years, the firm was awarded the Small Business of the Year Award in 2016 and Huy was awarded the Community Hero Award in 2018. Huy also maintained his involvement with the Vietnamese community through the Vietnamese American Roundtable, where he has served as a board member and former President.

Lucy Tran

About
Lucy (she/her/hers) spent the last decade focusing on building resources for Vietnamese North American communities and last held the role of Internal Vice President of UNAVSA from 2014-2016. Now joining the Board of Directors, Lucy is empowered to return to UNAVSA in a more active role to support the organization and its leaders through future endeavors and enable the organization forward. Lucy currently resides in San Francisco, California.
