The Board of Advisors over sees the UNAVSA organization as a whole to ensure consistency with its mission, purpose, and accountability for its operations. The Board of Advisors provides clarification on bylaws and on-going guidance and support to the Executive Board. All nine members of this board holds a minimum of a two year term, and consist of past UNAVSA Staff and other highly active leaders in organizations with a similar nature.
- Members of the Board of Advisors are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Board of Directors
- Terms are two years in length, but are renewable by appointment and confirmation with no term limits
Responsibilities
- Monitoring the organization’s actions to ensure consistency with its mission, purpose and accountability for operations
- Providing ongoing support and guidance for the Executive Board
- Enhancing the organization’s public image
- Clarifying, interpreting and explaining bylaws
- Assessing the organization’s performance
- Establishing a clear organizational mission, overseeing the implementation process, and providing adequate supervision and support to the Executive Board
